From the moment Senior Designer Jackie O'Neil first stepped foot inside this Essex estate, she knew she wanted to take the design in a different direction. Though the home enjoys sweeping views of the Connecticut River, she wanted to avoid "going coastal" on this project.
Inspiration from Nature
Jackie describes the design as Traditional Modern Farmhouse featuring a softer palette with neutral, organic fabrics that didn't detract, but rather complemented the home's fantastic waterfront views.
"My goal with this project was really to celebrate what the home naturally presented - a calm sophistication. I enjoyed the opportunity to diverge from a coastal aesthetic and show my versatility as a designer," Jackie said.
Jackie's Favorite Space
When all was said and done, Jackie's favorite room in the house was the family room. More warm and inviting than the formal living room, the design for this space was inspired by the beautiful hand-knotted rug she selected for the space. Warm taupes and earth tones really set the scene for an inviting gathering spot full of sophistication and grace.
