Refund policy

This website is operated by Saybrook Country Barn Inc. dba Saybrook Home, herein referred to as Saybrook Home.

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. An original receipt or gift receipt is required for a return.

To start a return, you can contact us at sales@saybrookhome.com. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: 2 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT 06475

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us within 14 days if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue.  


Exceptions / non-returnable items
Monogrammed items and Made to Order furniture or rugs, special order items, custom upholstery, items shipped directly from the vendor, or items damaged through normal wear and tear are not eligible for returns. Review the full list of ineligible items and our refund policy below before starting the process. Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the purchased amount, while returns with an original receipt will be refunded in the original form of payment. Sale items cannot be returned. Prior purchases are not eligible for price adjustments.

Items non-eligible for returns or exchanges:

  • Floor model furniture
  • Items without an original receipt or gift receipt. 
  • Monogrammed items 
  • Mattresses 
  • Gift cards 
  • Made to Order Items, including custom rugs, furniture, lighting 
  • Sale items 
  • Items damaged through normal wear and tear


Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards. 


Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.



Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. 


  • Original Receipt - Returns with the original receipt will be refunded in the original form of payment. 
  • Gift Receipt - Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the amount on the gift receipt. 
  • Delivery Fees - Delivery fees are non-refundable and prior purchases are not eligible for price adjustments. 
  • Cash & Check Refunds - Cash and check refunds over $100 will be issued as a company check and mailed to you (may take 14 business days).
