Our most recent staging project was of a beautiful cape style home within walking distance of downtown Essex. A spacious, open floor plan with plenty of natural light and a gorgeous outdoor garden made styling this property an adventure for senior designer Cheryl Homan.
living room
One major challenge Cheryl faced was the massive wall of built-ins located in the home's living room. With dozens of cubbies of varying shapes and sizes, accessorizing this room became a huge focus of the design. A trip to the Book Barn in Niantic helped our design team find a collection of tomes to act as filler and accentuate various vases, trays and decorative accents.
With a very modern, west coast vibe, the Essex property demanded an interior design that strays from the typical CT Shoreline aesthetic. Classic, traditional elements mix with chic, contemporary frames and details to create an appropriately transitional look on brand with the home's overall presentation.
The living room features a bold Serapi handknotted rug, balanced by a neutral sofa by Wesley Hall and side chairs by CRLaine. A metal and glass drink table adds a fun textural element in opposition to the handsome, classic wood coffee table.
dining room
The highlight of styling the dining room was (literally) the gorgeous lighting fixture. A no-brainer for this room and home, Cheryl was thrilled with how it pulled the entire look together.
kitchen
Simple accessories, eye-catching artwork and stellar counter stools by Wesley Hall were just about all that was needed to take the look of this kitchen to another level. Cheryl also selected the perfect hand-knotted runner to add warmth and dimension.
patio and garden
The Sky Collection by Jensen Outdoor was the perfect pick for the patio lounge and garden seating area. The dark ipe wood is elevated, chic and contrasts perfectly with the bluestone patio.
