A message from our President

We’re Back! We are REOPENING MAY 20 and Keith is here to talk about our new guidelines to keep everyone safe!

May 14, 2020

Hello Friends!

Well, the day is nearly here. The state of CT has announced that we will be able to emerge from our hibernation on Wednesday, May 20th. While we have no idea what the new “normal” of retail will look like, we want you all to know what we have been doing to prepare for this day.

Safety and cleanliness have always been of the utmost importance here at Saybrook Home, and given the ongoing pandemic, our already high standards have been raised even higher.  To ensure that when we welcome you back to our Home you feel safe, we have taken the following actions:

– Hand-sanitizing stations are available by each doorway for your use.

– We will be limiting the number of people who are allowed in the store at any one time to 50% of normal capacity.

– Please do not visit the store if you have a fever, are experiencing symptoms, or have been exposed to anyone who is sick or has tested positive.

– We are making the store available for “By-Appointment” shopping outside of our normal business hours, where you can work 1-on-1 with a designer on any projects you have. Appointments can be made for all of our departments: furniture, rugs, window treatments, apparel, and home décor.

– For our Apparel Shop, our fitting rooms will be closed.  Returned apparel merchandise will be held off the floor for the amount of time recommended by the CDC to allow the clothing to naturally disinfect.

– Returned home décor items will be disinfected immediately.  If that is not possible it will be held off the floor for the amount of time recommended by the CDC for it to naturally disinfect.

– Plexiglass has been installed at all registers, and cashiers will wear gloves while ringing out merchandise.

– Face coverings are required by every person within the confines of Saybrook Home.

– Common touch areas, such as entryway/exit doors and bathrooms, will be frequently and thoroughly cleaned.

We understand that, despite these steps, you may still feel uncomfortable returning to any store. Because of that, we will continue to offer curbside pickup of goods, personal shopping through video chat or email, and will continue to grow our online store options.

Right now, our only priority is your health and safety.  We would not be opening if we did not feel it was safe to do so, and we will not remain open unless we can continue to operate safely.  All of you are part of our Saybrook Home family, and we want to keep our collective family safe.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Thank you,

Keith A. Bolles
